Welcome to the Dura Products Bluetooth® Flow Meter App (“App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you install or use the App on either Android™ or Apple® iOS devices. We value your privacy and comply with applicable laws, including GDPR and CCPA/CPRA.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Bluetooth® Communication Data
Device Identifiers
A randomized, non-persistent Bluetooth® LE identifier used solely to connect to your flow meter.
Sensor & Control Data
Meter readings (e.g. flow rate, status) and control commands sent to/from the device.
2.2 Usage Analytics & Crash Reporting
We use analytics and crash reporting tools to improve app performance and reliability. Depending on your device platform:
- Android™: We use Firebase Crashlytics and Google Analytics for Firebase
- Apple® iOS: We may use Apple’s App Analytics, Firebase, or a similar platform
Data collected includes:
Crash logs (e.g., stack traces, OS version, device model)
App usage metrics (e.g., session duration, feature interactions)
No personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, emails, or phone numbers is collected.
2.3 No Personal Data
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, GPS location, or any other personal information.
3. How We Use Your Information
Device Connectivity & Functionality
To discover, connect, and communicate with your Bluetooth-enabled flow meter.
App Improvement
To analyze aggregated crash and usage data, identify bugs, and enhance performance.
4. Permissions & Why We Need Them
Android
Bluetooth (BLUETOOTH, BLUETOOTH_ADMIN) – To scan for and connect to your flow meter.
Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION) – Required by Android 6.0+ for Bluetooth scanning.
We do not use this permission to access or store your actual location.
Apple iOS
Bluetooth Permission – Required to use Bluetooth features.
Local Network (if prompted) – Used only to communicate with your Bluetooth-enabled device.
Location – Not collected or stored.
5. Third-Party Services
We may use the following tools:
Firebase Crashlytics & Google Analytics for Firebase
Apple App Analytics (iOS only)
These services act as “data processors” and do not receive personally identifiable information.

6. Data Sharing & Disclosure
Service Providers
We share only aggregated, anonymized analytics with third-party processors.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose data if required by law or to protect Dura Products’ legal rights.
No Sale of Data
We never sell, rent, or otherwise monetize your data.
7. Data Security & Encryption
In-Transit Encryption
All Bluetooth communication uses Bluetooth LE Security Mode 1, Level 2 (encrypted).
Analytics and Crash Data
Transmitted over TLS.
On-Device & Server Security
AES-256 encryption at rest, secure key storage, access control best practices.
8. Data Retention
BLE Logs & Analytics
Retained for up to 30 days.
Crash Reports
Retained for up to 90 days for debugging purposes.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
Access: Request a copy of your data.
Deletion: Request that delete any data we hold.
Restriction: Limit how we process your data.
Opt-Out:
CCPA/CPRA: You may opt out of any “sale” (we do not sell).
App analytics: You can disable this in-app under Settings → Privacy.

10. Children’s Privacy
This app is Not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe we have, please contact us to delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide notice in the app.
